A vanity URL like go.yourbrand.com/summer might redirect through a marketing automation platform, then a link shortener, then finally land on a campaign page. Each of those hops is a potential failure point. If any one of them returns a 4xx error, takes too long, or hits a redirect loop, every scan on your printed material goes nowhere.

Redirect chains are also invisible to scanners. Your QR code might look fine on your phone today, but if the link manager behind it changes a configuration — or the destination campaign page expires — the chain breaks silently.
